It's Electric!

Utah is a dry climate.
And apparently I am prone to static electricity.
My dad and I used to scoot up and down down the hallway carpet in socks with the lights off and shock each other to see the spark... it was really cool. Also voluntary electric shock.
But here I get shocked
all.
the.
time.
By everything.
And it's not on purpose.
And it freaks me out!

Obviously I need to start being more diligent about using dryer sheets.

Me N' My Buddy

I have this friend, his name is Trevor.
We do everything together.
It helps being married to him.
It makes hanging out a lot easier.
He's already there when I wake up,
and even though we sometimes have to split during the day,
he's always there at the end, too.
And in between,
there are plenty of funny messages of love,
phone calls,
and secret rendezvous.
Usually (okay, always) Trevor wakes up before me.
But he always kisses me goodbye before he leaves for the day.
Usually (... always) Trevor falls asleep before me.
But I'm always right next to him reading or something,
so I can hear an endearing snore or two from him before I fall asleep.
He's always with me at parties and family gatherings,
and that makes life way more fun.
There are a million inside jokes in our world,
and they keep life a lot more funny.
It's like a secret language.
Sometimes we get to walk to class together.
And whenever we watch movies,
I always have my favorite person to cuddle up to.
I can talk him into just about anything,
... but let's face it, so can he.
And he sure keeps me on my toes.
Whenever something good/bad/funny/irritating happens in my day,
he's the one I can't wait to tell about it.
And he never tells me I'm weird.
Because, let's face it, as Trevor told me once,
he's glad there was another alien out there in the world.

{We went to a wedding reception this weekend}

It was a good weekend.
Game night
wedding reception
movie night
lazy Sunday
the end.

580 Miles

Goal #1 (pertaining to this post) after getting married: Be a hott wife.

Goal #2 (again, pertaining to this post) after getting married: Get a hobby so that I don't distract Trevor all day long. (Seeing as how I had spent the last over-a-year writing to him, talking about him, talking to him on the phone, planning a wedding, driving to visit him, having him visit me, etc. I found my time suddenly much more free as I had to let him study at least for a little while every day :))

So one day, I started running.

I'd run before, on and off. I started when I would go with my sister sometimes, and then on my own after she moved out. But mid-February of last year, I started up again and I kept going 5 or 6 times a week. Eventually, it got past the point of being a painful experience and turned into something I love about every day.

This is why I love it:
I get 55 minutes a day of me time. Where I can think about whatever I want.
I can go as long or short, or as fast or slow as I feel like.
I start off my day nice and sweaty and feel great all day after.
It's a good workout, but not [overly] painful.
I do at least one productive thing every day.
I'm being healthy.

Someday, I won't be free to run as long and as far as I want every day.
I'll have kids to run around after,
more responsibilities,
and less time to myself.
But for now, I'm soaking it in.

In November, my brother got me a Nike + sensor to put in my shoe and hook up to my ipod. It tracks how far I go, how long it takes me, calories burned, and pace. Since November 26, 2010, I have run 580 miles... and counting. And I don't mean to brag, but I'm kind of proud of it. :)

On another note... life :)
Trevor's study spot, his old man rocking chair. I think it's adorable. He probably isn't having that much fun.

He only looks that way because of the studying part. I promise...

As Of Lately

To sum up the past 2 (ish) weeks of life:

Trip to Clearfield to see Kyle and Whitney: SO FUN. We love living so close to them! And only about a month and a week until Kyle and Whitney Junior gets here- HOORAY!!!

Grandma's 86th birthday party: My Grandma is my hero! She has 86 years worth of the greatest stories and life ever. I hope I can be as amazing as her when I'm old. She never misses a birthday, wedding, or baby (and remembers all the dates of these events). She makes us dinner at least once a month. Brilliant!
Us at a family party last summer
Exams and papers out our ears: Self explanatory.

Spring? I don't want to jinx it. But I didn't wear a coat to church today. And there are daffodils growing outside our house. :)

Sunday naps: The greatest kind. Yum.

Lava Rocks: These are magical rocks that Kyle and Whitney told us about that are supposed to suck up the musty smell of our apartment. May they be successful.

This girl:

Deemed "New Danielle" by Garrett for distinguishing purposes.
Is the newest member of the Danielle-Garrett-Trevor Mario Kart club.
And the greatest workout buddy of all time.
And I love her.
And she is staying in Provo for the summer!!! :)

Trevor is working hard... studying hard... being wonderful... and looking hott. Sometimes we stalk each other at school and hide out and call each other to look out the window (mostly me) or make bird calls across campus (mostly Trevor) to get each others' attention. It's super cool. I'm so glad I married someone who will never be boring.
Also from last summer. We love the beach so much.
NEW RUNNING SHOES!
I'm convinced they make me run faster. Plus they're pink.
The end. Happy Monday to you :)
