Milo's Life

Milo is getting very... vocal :). He has learned that if he fake whines, he will get attention. Hoping to nip that one in the bud.

He also knows where the milk is. That boy is not a good eater most of the time, but he will ALWAYS drink his milk. When he's ready, he walks over to the fridge and pulls at the door until I come get his bottle. It's so fun to see him starting to be able to communicate with me so much better.

He can point! One of the things that has been funny for me to realize is that when I point, he doesn't know to follow where my finger is leading. He just stares at my finger. But now he points, and I point, and we all point at stuff. And it's a great thing.

I was afraid that he was going to be moving to one nap a day really soon, but the past few weeks have proved me so wrong. This little munch has been sleeping like a champion! He only wakes up in the middle of the night needing milk a couple of times a week now, which is wonderful. When he sleeps and we sleep everyone is happy :).

Always on my hip. And I like him there. He's squirming a lot less to try and get away these days, and he loves being able to see the action.

He likes giving kisses. And I like getting kisses. Big wet open mouth ones. With teeth. MmMmMm.

He is kind of over shopping with me in the stroller. It was only a matter of time. Boys will be boys, right? At least he still likes playing in the cart :).

He blew kisses! I've been trying to teach him that one for like 6 months and he finally got it. It's awesome.

Whenever I say, Milo, say hi! He opens and shuts his little hand like his life depends on it. And he waves to everyone in the store. And all the animals. And the grass. And everything. He doesn't shake his arm anymore, he just opens and shuts his hand. It's the cutest.

He loves barbecue chicken. Ha! I REALLY don't like meat and I'm basically vegetarian (now and then I can do canned tuna, and I am a total carnivore when pregnant). But if he likes it and he'll eat it, I can support that!

He likes to bounce on our bellies. Which is funny and also intense, especially if I just ate. But he's just so happy.

He talks so much. It's awesome. I'm sure I'll start realizing more and more what words he's saying!

I love his quick little feet walking around in his baggy shorts, and his little tummy, and how his hair flops because we need to cut it but I don't want to, and his teeny hands that always have dirt under their fingernails, and his cute belly button, and giving him kisses on his cheeks all day long. Love that Milo :).

My Favorite Things

There are so many little Milo-isms that I never want to forget. Sometimes he'll do a thing for 2 weeks and then it phases out. His favorite things as of late:
- Spinning in circles. Which is extra funny because he isn't very steady :)
- The "flying the spoon into his mouth like an airplane" tactic is officially in full force. If that's what it takes to get that yogurt in his mouth, then I'm a plane.
- He likes to do the little "bububububu" with his finger on his mouth thing. If you know what I'm saying.
- He likes doing little fishy faces by opening and closing his mouth at people. So silly.
- He wants to like books so much. He picks them up, brings them over, and then when I start to read, he flips pages and eats them. It's progress though (and he sits on my lap!)
- He also likes to sit on my head and shoulder. I lay on the ground a lot when we play, and he likes to nestle his little bum right in my neck.
- EVERYTHING is a ball. I gave him Kix cereal the other day and he threw it and said "ba!". I can't really blame him- I mean- they are totally shaped like a ball.
- He dances to everything. The sound of the washer, anytime he hears music, any rhythm we make... I love it.
- He still likes to blink at me.
- He does this little hop-skip walk where he kind of prances and marches and moves his head up and down. I'll try to get it on video someday, but just know that it's adorable.
- He likes sneaking back into the laundry room and pulling all the towels off the shelf.
- Still loves the bath. He's learning a little better not to stand up, so he gets to stay in longer these days. Loves it.
- He waves by clenching his fist and opening it up now.
- He likes eating his teddy grahams laying on the floor. Goofy guy :)

Summatime

OH how I love the summer. It's getting really hot really fast, and I'm OK with it. We have thermal curtains and the best little window AC in all the land to keep us cool and happy all summer long. Until we walk outside of course.

Last week we had a HUGE hail storm. I grew up in Kansas and I went through massive storms all the time, and I have never seen hail this big. Our neighborhood was so torn up and our back windshield fell victim. Goodbye, $270 and thank you giant piece of sky ice.

Milo is a dream. I lied every other time I said it was the most fun stage. THIS is the most fun stage. He's such a funny little joker. He loves playing hide and seek and chase. He loves running around outside. He loves teddy grahams. He is so curious about everything. And he is still just the busiest little bee. Always putting his blocks in a box, or throwing his ball (he says ball ALL day long). He's still a terrible eater until it comes to bbq chicken. He loves it. Vegetarian mommy with a carnivore baby. He also loves climbing. He is ALL boy.
He also loves bubbles. But really, who doesn't? He helped me with a garage sale for the young women last week. Mostly he just played with all the stuff for sale. But hey- it kept him happy!
That smile. It melts me!!!
His other words: dada when he sees Trevor and momma when he's sad/hungry/mad/tired. I'll take it.

Milo Updates.

My little felon baby stole a hanger... but he's such a trooper when I make him shop with me.
Found him like this in bed one morning. Impending doom and I learned my lesson about putting him to bed without pants!
My big Trevor and my little Trevor.
 THE CUTEST JAMS
 Just always being happy.
 And playing with cars.
His new favorite thing is running around and playing outside. It's the cutest thing.

He also likes to squint his eyes at me. And we stick out our tongues at each other. LOVE him.
