Domesticity

I have officially learned a new skill:
I can make beans out of a bag!!
Forget about pansy sized cans of black beans that cost upwards of a dollar.
I bought a big old cheap bag of black beans and I COOKED them like a PRO!
I even sorted them out for rocks (my mom taught me that).
I soaked them... and simmered them... and stored them in the fridge.
And they are delicious.
Bean cooking. Check.

... and I even worked on a paper while I let them cook!
Look at me go!

Tardy.

I am perpetually late.
It's a fact of my. Entire. Life.
Why am I always running late?
Well let's be honest here. Usually it's something to do with me being girly.
For example:
Fixing my hair.
Finding my earring.
Changing my shirt. (once? twice? three times?)
Deciding I dressed for the wrong weather and having to change.
Or other standard reasons...
Talking on the phone.
Sleeping in for 15 extra minutes.
Terribly misjudging the amount of time it takes to get somewhere.
Counting on zero red lights.

Whatever the reason, I have this uncanny ability to be a few minutes late to just about anything, regardless of what time it starts.

But THIS semester is different! I have been trying SO hard to leave at least 15 minutes before every class and be THERE before it starts. Not to say I've had complete success yet... but I will! I'm doing it!

Danielle Hansen is going to be ON TIME in her life. I will be a punctual person.

This is us having a studious evening.
Again... my husband loves taking pictures.
And looking normal in them.

A Few Facts

I am really terrible at backing the car out of the driveway.
(BUT in my defense, the car and driveway are almost the same width. Almost.)

We usually have to run our drier at least twice to get a [mostly] dry result.

My feet are usually cold.

I do not like waking up before 7. If I am forced to do so, I will be taking a nap later that day. (However, naps after an early morning never fail to be fantastic.)

I talk to my mom and sister at least every other day, because they are my bff's.

We love watching movies. It's magical.

Last night I made Trevor carry me out of the shed back to the house because on our way out there, I promise an animal ran over my foot.

We. Love. Cinnamon. Toasters. Thank you, malt-o-meal.

One of Trevor's pinkies is really little.

It's really cold in the mornings and evenings now... fall? Is that you?

And that's all I have to say about that.

Today

Consisted of...
Early church
Grandma's house
Lots of family that I haven't seen in ages
Nostalgia and reminiscing
A sleepover at Grandma's (because tomorrow is IKEA day!)
Laughing
Fresh, green, non-itchy grass
Stealing kisses from my Trevor

... and that guy is just somethin else.
He has a way of explaining life
to my young mind
that just makes sense.
And he'll just sit and listen to me
daydreaming out loud about anything or nothing
for as long as I need.

I am such a lucky girl.

I Love Now

First week of school, thus far, is a success.
I felt like a first grader on Monday, backpack ready and stocked with pens, brand new notebook, hair done (which was rare in the summer as I work at a pool), READY AND EXCITED!!!
This is what I love about this semester:

I am taking mostly health classes. Oh how I love my major.
I was able to get into the classes I needed with the teachers I was hoping for.
The walk to campus from our new apartment is really pretty.
Trevor and I have  our religion class together, Marriage and Family.
He walks me to my next class after.
I don't start class until either 11 or 12:30 every day (I have never had class start after 9 or 10, but I'm loving my long mornings!)
It's been a perfect temperature every day.
As previously mentioned, no class on Friday.
I'm working in the evenings and Saturdays now, not mid afternoon, and not every day. Prime.
I don't need books for 3 of my classes (major plus, books = $).
Trevor's schedule and my schedule don't clash near as bad as in the summer.

And you know what, I am excited to go to class in an hour and a half!

By the way, we recently discovered Sunflower Market and I'm in love with it. WAY good, cheap fruit and veggies. How have I not found this place before? Plus I love the sunflowers on the outside... after all... I'm a Kansas girl. :)

From last summer... but I kind of love it.
