Nostalgia

I loved my childhood.
For some reason, I have been really nostalgic lately.
Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I haven't been home in over a year,
or that I'm surrounded by mountains,
or that I'm missing this unbelievable snow storm in the land of regular snowdays,
or that the song "The Best Day" by Taylor Swift is on my new running playlist (I know I know, not the best for pumping up purposes, whatever.)
Or that my elementary school caught on fire today!
I seriously cried about it.
I love being a Green Springs Gator.
All those little sad kids with melted crayons :(

So so sad.
But I love, love so many things about home.
Olathe Kansas: home of
amazing thunderstorms
late summer nights
Black Bob Pool (my second home)
my cat!
my house (my family has lived there my whole life)
green grass in my huge backyard
being able to see the horizon
Heritage park
Old Settler's
QT Rooster Boosters
My family (of course)
driving around with the windows down
sitting on my roof talking to Trevor on the phone until all hours of the night :)
open fields
cows
feeling SO at home... ahhh :)

Not that I am not absolutely in love with life exactly how it is now.
But thinking of home sure makes me happy and I really love that place :).
And good news: I get to take my guy there in April!!!!

  1. I can't even imagine not visiting home for over a year, but that's exciting you get to go in April. Only 2+ months away! And the melted crayon comment was sad and funny at the same time.

  2. This is Seth, and I'm here to say that the grass in the back yard is not green so much. In fact, i can't say there is any grass back there....
