Cousin Bash 2012

Grandma's funeral was definitely a bittersweet event. The bishop who spoke said it perfectly: we are glad she's in a better place and we know we will see her again, but we didn't want her to go and we will miss going to Grandma's house. However, I think she was thrilled up there watching all the cousins and family get together and celebrate her life all weekend!

We had a blast celebrating Grandma with pie from Village Inn (her favorite restaurant) and sexy shoes (she loved a good pair of sassy heels!)

My cousins brought all their babies, so naturally, Trevor and I spent the weekend stealing them. Doesn't he make holding babies look sexy?

Overall, it was a busy, fun weekend. We all laughed and cried and reminisced a lot. We are so glad for our sweet Grandma!

Happy Birthday Big Brother!

It's Garrett's birthday!
I love birthdays, and I love brothers.
Garrett is the greatest big brother in the universe.
I'm SO glad we get to live near each other and party hardy all the time!!

He takes good care of me (even though he doesn't want you to know he is a total teddy bear)

He is so non judgmental and open
He hangs out with me when I'm bored
He deals with me when I'm being annoying
And he is awesome.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

We Love You Grandma!

Yesterday morning I woke up at 6 from a dream where my mom had just told me my Grandma passed away. A few minutes later, I checked my phone and saw that I had a missed call from her at 4 in the morning. I texted my brother who lives with her and he said that he had called me accidentally in the night, but that Grandma had a rough night and that her time was short.

I went to work like normal, but was super distracted. I felt like I should go out and be with her, and I was all weepy anyway (so not good at controlling my tears!). I went home, got all ready to stay overnight with her, and went out to Sandy. After 2 hours sitting together with her and her sister, she passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was 87 and hadn't had much serious pain or complications with her cancer until the night before.

I am so glad for all the time I've gotten to spend with her, especially the last 5 years since I've been in Utah! She has always been as sharp as a tack and could rattle off memories and dates for hours, which I love. She experienced so much in her life and was always doing so many amazing things. I love my Grandma forever and am so glad that she got to celebrate her anniversary today with her husband who died the year before I was born.

She is amazing.

We're Alive!

I know, I KNOW ... big time slacking in the blog world. 

Here's the quick version of what we've been up to lately:

Trevor is in Chemistry for the summer. Ergo, a vast majority of his time is spoken for. We do still have plenty of time to curl up and watch the Big Bang Theory at night though. Priorities.

I'm still absolutely loving my job. The people are fantastic, the work is great. I'm even getting used to waking up at 6:30 in the morning if you can believe it!

I may or may not be the weird girl who lays out during lunch break. It's fine.

We had a fabulous mother's day at my Grandma's house. Love celebrating those fabulous ladies in our life!

The most amazing cookies I have ever made. SO GOOD!!!

Also- we got to talk to Jacob (Trevor's brother on a mission in Mexico)!!! So fun!!!

This weekend we're heading out to Las Vegas to celebrate Trevor's grandma's 90th (!) birthday. Totally ready for some sun and a quick little weekend getaway!
