I learned that NO isn't enough. "WE don't throw cars" (I'm on your side, but it's not okay) "Cars that are thrown go in the time out box" A good line repeated over and over (and over) is needed to make the connection. But no matter what I do (ei, time-out, just a straight talking to him, a little spanking, or whatever!), I ALWAYS follow up with a hug and a kiss and an explanation of how/why everything just happened the way it did. I completely understand the feeling horrible, but you're right no discipline equals a big, bratty, self-entitled toddler. And NO ONE likes those! If you learn the trick, let me know!
